Cam Cannarella's 3-run homer in the ninth gave Clemson an 8-5 walk-off win over Winthrop.
With the game tied at 5-5, Jake Jarrell drew a lead-off walk to start the ninth. Benjamin Blackwell then laid down a well-placed bunt and beat the throw to first, setting up the heroics from Cannarella. It was the freshman's second long ball of the season.

The Tigers improve to 13-8 (1-2) on the season, while the Eagles fall to 9-13.
Clemson got on the board early with a sacrifice fly from Caden Grice that gave the Tigers a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first. Winthrop would come right back with three runs in the second, highlighted by a 2-run home run by Nick Badillo.
Clemson would tie it up in the third on a throwing error and an RBI single by Will Taylor.
The Tigers would take its first lead in the fifth on a 2-run shot by Grice, his second of the season, but the Eagles would tie it right back up in the sixth on another 2-run shot of its own, this one off the bat of McKinely Erves.
Freshman Ethan Darden got the start for Clemson, going six innings, while allowing five runs on six hits. He struck out five and walked one. Nick Clayton would come on to pitch the final three frames, holding Winthrop hitless, while striking out four.
Player of the Game: Clayton came up big for Clemson in this one, pitching three innings of perfect baseball in relief of Darden and lowering his ERA to 2.19 on the season.
Key Moment: With no outs, runners on first and second and the score tied at 5-5, Cannarella launched a 1-0 pitch out to dead center to give Clemson the dramatic win.
Stat of the Game: The Tigers struggled to come up with key hits, going 0-7 with runners in scoring position with two outs.
Up Next: The Tigers will hit the road on Wednesday to take on Kennesaw State. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. and the game will be televised on ESPN+.
