Clemson Basketball Lands Transfer Big Man

Former UNC Greensboro big man Bas Leyte announced a commitment to Clemson on Thursday.

The 6-foot-10, 235-pound power forward, who is originally from Bergen op Zoom, Netherlands, just visited Clemson on Wednesday.

Leyte averaged 7.6 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game last season, shooting 48.5% from the field. He has one season of eligibility remaining after spending his first four years with the Spartans.

Leyte is the third transfer addition this offseason and helps fill a need after backup center Ben Middlebrooks transferred out. He joins forward Jack Clark and shooting guard Jake Heidbreder, who have already announced commitments.
