Clemson OC Garrett Riley Breaks Down Tigers Offense, Florida State Defense Ahead of Saturday's Game (Football)

CLEMSON—Clemson offensive coordinator Garrett Riley met with the media for the second time this season, and delved into what has gone right and what has gone wrong with the Tigers' offense ahead of their matchup with No. 3 Florida State on Saturday (noon, ABC).

  • "Feel like you've got a feel of our team in terms of going through some adversity, getting behind the 8-ball on some things. Think what we found out is we have a team of guys that don't flinch."
  • "I've seen a lot of different guys get involved. I've seen a QB that's maturing. We are beginning to gel up front."
  • on FSU's defense: "They are very, very good. They have an experienced group that are explosive in all areas. They've played a lot of ball together. Super impressed watching them on tape. They are going to present a lot of challenges for us."
  • on QB Cade Klubnik's early struggles: "Things you did in high school, you can’t get away with it at this level … he’s certainly grown there."
  • "Ton of confidence in our guys to produce and make plays, our guys are prepared for it. (Talking about going into the gauntlet of the schedule)
  • Duke loss: "Learn from those critical mistakes ... We put ourselves in position, didn't get it done. What do you do know? You hit it on the head, move forward."
  • "We have some other guys we are going have to move around a little bit with Cole being out"
  • on possibly playing Tyler Brown and Antonio Williams at the same time: "At the end of the day, who are our best guys that give us a chance to win?"
  • "We just need to clean up some eye discipline in pass pro, but certainly have the guys to do it."
  • "Tink is very natural, fearless dude just like Tyler Brown, he's going to make a lot of plays here"
