Clemson Roster Update: Tigers Down DE vs. Miami; Wiggins, Williams Make Trip

Clemson will be without starting defensive end Xavier Thomas for today’s road game against Miami at 8 p.m. on the ACC Network.

The senior didn’t make the trip, but it isn’t related to an injury, All Clemson Tigers has been told. Dabo Swinney will likely update Thomas’ status after the game.

Thomas has 13 tackles, three tackles for a loss, and two sacks this season. His veteran presence will be missed and means more snaps for T.J. Parker and Cade Denhoff.

Defensive tackle Peter Woods made the trip, but multiple reports said the freshman is in a walking boot. His availability tonight is unknown.

The Tigers’ defense does get starting cornerback Nate Wiggins, who has been out with a leg injury since the Sept. 23 game against Florida State.

Receiver Antonio Williams, who hasn’t played since Week 3 because of an ankle injury, also made the trip and is expected to play against Miami.
