Clemson Softball Drops Four Spots in D1 Rankings

As the regular season comes to a close, there are just a few minor changes to the rankings. The top two spots remain the same after No. 1 Oklahoma and No. 2 UCLA clinched their respective regular season titles with a week left in conference play.

No. 3 Florida State went undefeated, with a midweek win over No. 22 Florida and a series sweep over Notre Dame. The Noles jumped No. 4 Tennessee after the Vols dropped a single game to Arkansas, just ahead of No. 5 Texas after a week off for the Longhorns. No. 8 Stanford made the week’s (modestly) big move, climbing two spots after sweeping aside Arizona State. No. 10 Clemson fell after losing the series to Virginia Tech and a midweek matchup against Liberty.

No. 25 Minnesota enters the rankings in the midst of an eight-game winning streak, including wins in seven of the last eight series in the Big Ten.

The SEC leads all conferences with eight ranked teams, followed by the five from the Pac-12 and four each from the ACC and Big 12. The Big Ten adds another team with a pair in the rankings and No. 18 Wichita State (American) and No. 23 Central Arkansas (Atlantic Sun) continue to carry the flag for conferences beyond the Power 5.
