Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney didn't mince words following his team's disappointing performance, acknowledging a myriad of mistakes and expressing his apologies to the fans.

"Defensively, really poor—just really poor," Swinney said. "Lines of scrimmage, there’s going to be a lot of good stuff we see on tape. But second half, missed tackles."

Swinney emphasized the value of learning from early-season challenges, despite the tough loss.

"We're gonna learn from this. I don't shy away from games like this. You get a chance to learn about your football team right out of the gate. We'll respond, we'll get back to work," he stated.

However, the bluntest assessment came as he reflected on the game's outcome.

"At the end of the day, we got our butts kicked. Sorry for our fans. I feel terrible for them. We didn’t get it done for them," Swinney said. "They just freaking kicked our tails in the second half, so congrats to them. When you get beat like that, that's on the head coach. That's on me. Just complete ownership of an absolute crap second half."
