College football is more than six months from now, but don’t let that stop you from picking against spreads.
FanDuel Sportsbook released several early lines for some of 2023’s biggest games. And Clemson made the cut.
It’s February, but let the speculation begin: Clemson is favored by three points over Florida State.
The Tigers are hosting the rival Seminoles on Sept. 23 in the first year where there are no more ACC divisions and the two sides could meet again in December.
For now, Clemson gets the early nod as the favorite and that feels right. It is inside Death Valley, where the Tigers have won 40 of their last 41 games.
The amount of points between these two is interesting. The Tigers have won seven consecutive games in the series, and only the 37-34 win in Tallahassee in 2016 was decided by a field goal or less.
Clemson was favored last year at FSU with a line that was as high as a touchdown and as low as 3.5. The Tigers won 34-28.
The Seminoles bring back a lot of talent, including QB Jordan Travis and DE Jared Verse as well as several impactful transfers.
Clemson enters a new era on offense with Cade Klubnik fully taking over at quarterback and Dabo Swinney bringing in Garrett Riley from TCU to run the Air Raid offense.
The point spread shows that the gap, at least to oddsmakers, is closing between these two rivals.
