Fast-Rising DL Christian Hunter Recaps Visit to Clemson, Dishes on Nick Eason (Recruiting)

Clemson saw a number of high-profile recruits take visits throughout the season. From the current seniors, all the way down to some select freshmen.

One of those high school freshmen was DL Christian Hunter (Milton, Ga). The 6-foot-1, 250-pound prospect made his way to town for the Tigers' big win over Notre Dame, and despite the noon kickoff, Hunter was extremely impressed with the atmosphere inside the stadium.

"It was great, really great," Hunter told All Clemson Tigers. "The electricity of all the fans just walking on the field. Seeing the players all hyped up. Just the fans there and everything. And I love the coaching staff."

Hunter said he came away feeling wanted by the coaching staff and he really hit it off with DT coach Nick Eason.

"He's a real stand-up guy," Hunter said. "He knows what he talks about. He had the opportunity to give me some knowledge. What he went through during his time at Clemson."

Hunter also hails from the same high school as current Clemson freshman DB Rob Billings, and the two still stay in contact to this day.

"He's like, he's a role model to me," Hunter said. "He likes to see me win. Gives me advice on the future and how to maintain everything in my life."

Seeing as he just finished up his freshman season, Hunter is still extremely early in the process. He did take visits to Georgia, Auburn and NC State, on top of the one he took to Clemson. When asked if there was something about Clemson that seperated itself from the rest, Hunter was quick to point out the culture that so many recruits rave about.

"The environment, the culture," he said. "The coaches just love you there. Like the defense. If I caused a fumble, it would be like the Super Bowl happened. That's what I love. That's what I just love."

Early in the process or not, Hunter does know what he is looking for in a school, and one of the biggest things is a quality education.

"Education. And how the fans would back me up, the atmosphere," he said. "But it's mostly the education."

However, in today's landscape, there's always the NIL factor. For Hunter, though, he isn't concerning himself too much with that aspect. He fully believes in his talent and knows those things tend to take care of themselves.

"Let people see how good I am, let people see my talent, and then everything else will come along with that."
