Blake Hebert, a four-star quarterback from Connecticut’s Brunswick School, has flipped his commitment from Clemson to Notre Dame. Hebert had originally pledged to Clemson in June 2023, but after Notre Dame’s top QB target, Deuce Knight, decommitted, the Irish reignited their pursuit. Hebert developed strong ties with Notre Dame’s coaching staff, including head coach Marcus Freeman and quarterbacks coach Gino Guidugli, during a summer visit to South Bend. Hebert praised their offensive strategy and the personal connections he built, which ultimately swayed him to change his commitment .
Clemson’s quarterback room is already crowded, which likely played a role in Hebert’s decision. The Tigers are set to return starting quarterback Cade Klubnik for his senior season in 2025, with highly touted backup Christopher Vizzina waiting in the wings. Additionally, Clemson has already secured a 2025 commitment from Tait Reynolds, creating a packed depth chart that may have limited Hebert’s chances for early playing time .
