Newly hired offensive coordinator Garrett Riley was interviewing with Clemson head coach Tuesday following the national championship game Monday night, in which his TCU team had just competed and lost. It was Friday that he was hired and in Clemson to begin recruiting and familiarizing himself with his new home.

The whirlwind that ensued meant that he has barely had any time to reflect on the historic season that he was a part of at TCU.

“It’s been hard to. On some of these plane rides, I guess I’ve had a little chance to sit there and reflect,” Riley said. “But yeah, it’s been such a whirlwind for us, for TCU, for my family individually, so haven’t had a ton of time. I know that will come. It was a great run. It was a great ride. It was one of the funnest years I’ve ever had as a coach, was able to be around just a lot of great players and great people. And here at Clemson that was part of the draw too, is to be around just unbelievable people. But no, I haven’t had a ton of time just to sit back and reflect on it too much.”

Quote of the week

“People ask me what I do in the winter when there’s no baseball. I’ll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring.”
