One of the top players in the country was among the hundreds to participate in the final sessions of Dabo Swinney's high school camps this year.
4-star Jordan Young (Monroe, NC), who is the top-rated ATH in the nation per 247 Sports, not only worked out for the staff on June 10, but also got an up close look at what the Clemson program is all about.
"I liked how they have a program for alumni," Young told All Clemson Tigers. "How much they spoke about life after football, and that everything is in walking distance on campus. They also have a very nice recovery room."
Clemson is recruiting Young as a safety. The blue-chip prospect, who is rated as high as No. 15 overall, ended up leaving town with an offer, becoming the first safety in the 2025 class to be offered by safeties coach Mickey Conn and the Tigers.
"Blessed! Coach Conn said that I was the first safety in my 2025 class to be offered," Young said about his offer. "That made me smile a bit."
Last season, Young registered 41 total tackles and had eight interceptions. He had one game in which he picked off four passes. He also blocked two punts.
While on his visit, Young said he received excellent feedback from the staff. Not only for his accomplishments on the field, but also in the classroom.
"They liked my film and said my transcript was everything they are looking for in a player/student," Young said.
Young, who already holds 16 Power-5 offers, is still planning to attend camps at Georgia, Alabama, and Tennessee. He currently has no timeline for a decision. For now, he is still working on building relationships, and while it is still in its early stages, Young's relationship with Conn is off to a great start.
"His knowledge and excitement about what the Clemson culture is about, how many years he had invested in coaching, and how he took the time to go on the campus tour with me and my mom meant a lot."
