Monday Musings: Clemson Players Meet with Media Ahead of NC State Game

Multiple Clemson Tigers met with the media Monday following their double-overtime loss to Miami to rehash what went wrong, talk expectations for the remainder of the season and the upcoming game.

Sheridan Jones:

  • “I missed the Wake Forest game due to bad headaches and feeling bad, so it was good to get back on the field Saturday”
  • “hard-fought physical loss sucks we came out with the L, but the mindset is still the same we get to play this week and go win”
  • “We have a job to do, we can’t dwell on our past mistakes we will put this last week behind us and be the best going forward”
  • “Never let a loss beat you twice, we will watch film and go attack the next week.”

Cade Klubnik:

  • “It was supposed to be a handoff and I thought i saw something and tried making a play.”
  • “I’m thankful for games like that, because I think I’m gonna have a long career here… you go two ways with this. Our way is continue to grow.”
  • “There’s a lot of mistakes throughout the whole game…you’ve got a do a reevaluation of the game as a whole.”
  • “We’ve got a lot of guys who have had a lot of success.”
  • “We have 2 of the best Running backs in the country and I 100 percent believe that we had a tough night running the ball but I highly trust that.”
  • Adam Randall vs. Miami. “To get him loose right there was really fun to see…I’m so confident in our receiving room and I’m really excited about them.”

Jeremiah Trotter:

  • “We weren’t happy with (the fitting of run gaps). We pride ourselves in being able to stop the run.”
  • On seeing Miami celebrate is “something you notice and you don’t like…Gotta win with class and gotta lose with class.”
  • “We will improve, happy with the effort we gave on the field, and we will get better.”
  • “Our mindset right now is Saturday vs NC State so we gotta make sure we got a good game plan.”
  • “We’re always expected to win and we’ve got to get back to that.”

Tyler Davis:

  •  “The goal is to finish no matter what the result is.” 
  • When things don’t go your way the main question is how do you respond and we know how we gonna respond “
