Multiple Clemson Commits Set to Kick Off High School Season (Recruiting)

While most of Clemson's current recruiting class is still a week away from kicking off their high school seasons, there are a handful that will get things started this weekend.

Of the 17 prospects currently committed, six are set to be in action either Friday or Saturday.

LB Sammy Brown (Jefferson, GA): The top prospect in the Tigers' class, Brown and Jefferson kick things off on Friday with a road game against Alpharetta. Kickoff is at 7:30. The 5-star prospect, and top LB in the class, is coming off a season that saw him rack up 113 total tackles. He also played on the offensive side of the ball, rushing for 1,459 yards and 21 touchdowns while averaging 8.1 YPC. He also notched 12 catches out of the backfield for 246 yards and 3 more touchdowns. To date, Brown was named a Preseason All-American by MaxPreps. He was named Preseason All-State for Class 5A by the Atlanta Journal Constitution, and earned superlatives of ‘Best Player’ and ‘Most Highly Recruited’ for Class 5A by the publication. Next week, Jefferson will travel to the Upstate of South Carolina for a road matchup against Wren.

S Ricardo Jones (Northside, GA): One of the top safeties in the class, Jones and Northside open the season with a road trip to face off with Jones County on Saturday at 4 pm. Despite missing some time last season due to injury, Jones still finished with 37 tackles, 8 PBU and 6 interceptions. As a junior, Jones recorded seven interceptions.

DL Hevin Brown-Shuler (Pace Academy, GA): The 4A Preseason All-State selection in the state of Georgia begins his final season with a road matchup Friday night against Holy Innocents Episcopal. Kickoff is set for 7 pm. Shuler is a 4-star recruit, ranking No. 224 overall in the 247 Composite.

S Noah Dixon (Troup County, GA): Dixon is also a Preseason All-State selection in the state of Georgia. The 4-star prospect, who committed to Clemson back in January, opens his season on the road as well, as Troup County heads to Harris County for a 7:30 kickoff on Friday night. As a junior, Dixon tallied 40 total tackles, with three tackles for loss.

RB David Eziomume (North Cobb, GA): The 4-star back was one of North Cobb's Players of the Week after a 27-21 win over Collins Hill in a scrimmage last weekend. North Cobb hits the road for a season-opening matchup against Westlake on Friday night. Kickoff is at 7:30 pm. So far in his career, Eziomume has averaged more than 12 yards per carry.

DT Champ Thompson (Meadowcreek, GA): Thompson and Meadowcreek will also open the season away from home, as they hit the road for a Friday night matchup against Greater Atlanta Christian Friday night. The 4-star talent is coming off a season that saw him record 38 tackles, seven tackles for loss and three sacks.

OL Ronan 'O Connell (Fred J Page, TN): Page hits the road for a matchup against Giles County Friday night. Kickoff is set for 7:30 pm. The 3-star prospect is the only OL commit in the class so far for the Tigers, announcing a verbal pledge on July 4.

K Nolan Hauser (Hough, NC): One of the top kickers in the 2024 class, Hauser and Hough will travel to Byrnes to face off with the Rebels. Kickoff is at 7 pm on Saturday. Hauser is the current N.C. High School Athletic Association state record holder for most career field goals. Last season, Hauser was 20-of-25 on field goal attempts with his longest coming from 49 yards out. He was also 57-of-57 on extra-point attempts. According to Chris Sailer Kicking, Hauser is a five-star prospect,
