While Clemson already has three offensive linemen committed in the 2025 cycle, the Tigers are still looking to add more.
One target that was not on hand at the Elite Retreat is 4-star Ziyare Addison (Sumner, Riverview, Fl). The 6-foot-5, 275-pound prospect last visited for the Florida State game back in September when he picked up his offer.
"It feels good to know that the Clemson football coaching staff has evaluated me carefully," Addison told All Clemson Tigers after he was offered. "They are a Top-10 program year in and year out. Most importantly, they are not just offering me a football scholarship based on hype. It means they truly want me to be a part of their program."
Dabo Swinney, Garrett Riley, Tyler Grisham and Matt Luke paid him a visit last month during the contact period, and we now know when Addison plans to get back to campus.
Addison told me he plans to be back for a spring practice on March 11. He also said he plans to be on hand for the big official visit weekend in June.
Georgia, Florida State, Penn State, Miami and Alabama are just a few of the big-name programs showing interest. He has close to 30 offers in total. The fact that he already knows he is going to take an official to Clemson already, before he has made plans to take one anywhere else, seems pretty noteworthy.
The fact that Swinney tabbed Luke as the new OL coach is something that is playing a big role for the Tigers. Getting to campus in the spring will give Addison a shot at watching Luke in his element and an up close and personal look at his coaching style.
"His track record, he has a history of developing players who go on to the NFL in the first round of the draft," Addison said. "That's something I definitely want in a coach. Someone who can help me reach my full potential."
