Tiger Tracker: Clemson Expands Offensive Line Board

Clemson has again expanded the board at offensive line.

With the Tigers looking to take up to three offensive linemen, and only landing one of the six that visited during the big official visit weekend back in June, it was only a matter of time before the coaching staff widened the net.

4-star Elyjah Thurmon (Bradwell Institute, Hinesville, GA) was offered back on July 18, and late last week, 3-star Daniel Akinkunmi (NFL Academy, London) also announced an offer. Thurmon worked out at camp back during the summer, and has since named his five finalists that consist of Missouri, Georgia Tech, LSU, South Carolina and Clemson. Expect Clemson to be one of the schools to get an official at some point during the season.

Akinkunmi also worked out at camp and had previously released a Top 10 that did not include Clemson. However, the offer has changed things and the 6-foot-4, 320-pound prospect told All Clemson Tigers that when he releases his list of finalists, the Tigers will be included.

Akinkunmi said he will return to campus for an official visit for the Florida Atlantic game and he plans to spend the entire weekend at Clemson. With kickoff set for 8 p.m., this will be Akinunmi’s first time experiencing a college football game at night. He has already taken an official visit to Baylor and will take an official to Oklahoma this weekend. The 3-star talent said he hopes to have a decision made sometime in October.

3-star Favour Edwin (Eagles Landing, McDonough, GA) is also another name worth monitoring. Edwin also worked out at camp, but doesn’t have an offer yet. This is his first season playing organized football after having moved to the United States from Nigeria two years ago, and the staff wants to see him in some actual games before officially handing out an offer. Edwin plans to visit for the Florida State game, but told All Clemson Tigers that will be an unofficial visit. That leaves open the possibility of an official taking place later in the season still on the table. Alabama, Florida and Auburn are all set to get visits the first three weeks of the season.
