Tigers Not Looking to Have Just Another Season, Ready to 'Win It All' (Football)

After missing out on the College Football Playoff the past two seasons, the Clemson Tigers are intent on returning in 2023.

One of the things that has kept the Tigers on the outside looking in has been inconsistency on the offensive side of the ball. With Dabo Swinney bringing in Garrett Riley to implement his scheme and Cade Klubnik now the starting quarterback, the Tigers entered the spring with a different mentality.

"We're not here to just have another year. We're here to win it all," Klubnik said. "That's the main goal here. If we don't do that, then the accomplishment isn't made."

Klubnik feels like Riley's arrival signifies a reset for the entire program, and the young quarterback has already fallen in love with the new offense.

“I’m super excited about coach Riley for what he’s going to bring,” Klubnik said. “It’s kind of a fresh start for this offense and a fresh start for this program."

“I love the offense. It’s efficient and productive. Less plays... Doing less and doing it better. I’m loving the freedom in the offense.”

After taking over for DJ Uiagalelei in the ACC Championship win over North Carolina, Klubnik showed why he was a 5-star prospect and the number one quarterback in the country in the 2022 recruiting class. He completed 20-of-24 passes for 279 yards with two total touchdowns, and no interceptions.

However, in his first career start in the Orange Bowl loss to Tennessee, there were some freshman moments, including a couple of interceptions, and Klubnik is determined to improve ahead of the upcoming season.

One of those things is continuing to be a leader, and now that he is the starting quarterback, he is demanding the best from each and every one of his teammates.

"Just continue to work on my pocket presence and accuracy and just continue to rally guys and push guys to places that they haven't pushed themselves before," Klubnik said.

"I feel like now I kind of have that capability to just really encourage guys to let's keep going. I mean, we got we got some of the best athletes in the whole nation here."
