Clemson Tigers wide receivers coach Tyler Grisham spoke to the media Tuesday afternoon, addressing young talent, playmaking ability, and depth heading into the 2024 season.
Grisham began by mentioning that both Tyler Brown and Adam Randall are healthy heading into fall camp, which is great news for Clemson fans.
When discussing depth in the receiver room, Grisham noted a conversation with wide receiver Antonio Williams, highlighting how deep and talented the wide receiver room is.
Grisham explained that his receivers want to play with top talent, and he truly believes they have that talent across the board heading into the 2024 season. He said this is the most excited he's been about the personnel since he took the job in 2020.
He then addressed the young talent on the team, mentioning Noble Johnson and Ronan Hanafin as players who had significant growth this offseason, giving them credit for a great spring and summer in preparation for the season ahead.
The coach also mentioned incoming freshmen T.J. Moore and Bryant Wesco as two players who will be competing with Johnson and Hanafin for playing time, and how much competition will benefit all four.
Grisham praised Adam Randall for taking Wesco under his wing when he arrived, helping him develop and support each other.
He believes Wesco can contribute immediately, following a great transitional period from high school to college in the spring. He also noted that Moore has spent more time studying film than anyone else in the receiver room since his arrival.
However, Grisham explained that the staff believes there is a lot of great veteran talent in the receiving room, and there will be competition in the fall for who starts in game one against Georgia.
Regarding Antonio Williams, Grisham said he "looks better, is doing more, is around more, and is leading better" heading into this season.
Tyler Grisham's insights highlight Clemson's strong receiver depth and promising young talent, setting high expectations for the upcoming 2024 season.
