Wes Goodwin Opens Up on Injuries and Peter Woods

CLEMSON—The Clemson Tigers defensive coordinator Wes Goodwin met with the media to preview the upcoming game against the Duke Blue Devils, how he is approaching Year 2 and the “studs” he has.

Here is what we heard:

  • Jeremiah Trotter: “He’s ready to roll (for Duke),” Goodwin says. “He’s one of those, you have to hold him back rather than encourage him to go.”
  • Adds of the overall defense: “We’re healthy for the most part”
  • “I coach my guys my way and I am who I am, but nobody wants to win more than me”
  • Peter Woods being listed as a co-starter at DT with Ruke Orhorhoro and Tyler Davis on the Week 1 depth chart. “He earned the right to be listed that way. That’s how Coach Eason and the staff feels. He showed up well beyond his years, obviously. Really talented.”
  • We have a very unselfish team that pours into the younger guys. Speaking on older guys mentoring younger guys
