It is the second 2024 commitment in as many days, as 3-star DE Adam Kissayi announced a commitment on Friday, just one day after decommitting from Minnesota.
Hampton (Florida State University School, Tallahassee) chose Clemson over Arkansas, Florida State, Florida and Louisville. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound prospect had more than 20 offers in total.
After picking up his offer late last year, Hampton was one of numerous uncommitted prospects to attend Clemson's big official visit weekend in June. He would end up taking officials to each of his finalists, outside of Florida State, a visit that was scheduled for later this year.
The addition of Hampton now gives the Tigers 16 verbal pledges in the 2024 class, and he is the fourth defensive back take in the class. He joins safeties Noah Dixon and Ricardo Jones, and cornerback Tavoy Feagin. Clemson is also still waiting on a decision from 4-star CB Corian Gipson, who is set to announce on July 22.
