Most of the high school prospects that attended Clemson's Elite Junior Day over the weekend already held offers from the Tigers.
One of the few that didn't was 2024 LB Drew Woodaz (Jesuit, Tampa, Fl), but that wouldn't last, as the younger brother of current Clemson LB Wade Woodaz, would leave town with that coveted offer in hand.
"It means a lot when a great coach like Dabo (Swinney) sees something in me to offer me," Woodaz told All Clemson.
Woodaz was already very familiar with the Clemson program, having already visited on multiple occasions, but this visit was a little different, as it gave him a chance to bond with the other priority targets the Tigers are currently recruiting.
"It was great to see all the main targets in my class there and get to build a relationship with some of them," Woodaz said.
It also gave him a chance to catch up with defensive coordinator Wes Goodwin, as Woodaz noted it is a relationship that is continuously evolving.
"It’s become more personal," Woodaz said. "And getting to know him as a coach more and more has been great."
Woodaz now has a dozen offers in total, with Boston College being one of the latest to pull the trigger, but there are three of those schools that he is currently hearing from the most.
"Vanderbilt and Oklahoma and Clemson's up there," he said. "My brother is always recruiting me."
Having an older brother that has already been through the process is proving to be beneficial, as Woodaz can always lean on him when needed.
"He’s helping me a ton," Woodaz said. "We kind of compare our process and his experience was a little bit slower than mine but his picked up late and he tells me how to handle the busyness of phone calls and lots of texts."
While the offer from Clemson was one that Woodaz absolutely wanted, the fact that he now has one doesn't speed up his timeline when it comes to making a decision. He still has more visits he wants to take, including to Vanderbilt and UCF, and he plans to take his time in an effort to ensure he makes the right decision.
"I’m still taking my time and weighing my options."
