CLEMSON- Gideon Davidson was one of the first players in the 2025 recruiting class to pick up an offer from Clemson.

The 6-foot, 193-pound 4-star prospect, out of Liberty Christian (Lynchburg, Va.), is not only one of the top running backs in the next recruiting cycle, he is also arguably a Top 50 talent overall.

Davidson, who has visited on multiple occasions over the past year, picked up one of the Tigers' opening offers on Wednesday.

"Makes a player feel special to receive a hard to get Clemson offer," Davidson told All Clemson Tigers. "I was very excited and humbled to receive one."

He is also the top priority at running back for Clemson, something he said makes an impression.

"It’s more than just getting an offer from Clemson," Davidson said. "The coaching staff and (recruiting director) Mr. (Jordan) Sorrells have been connected to us for the last year and a half. That means a lot to me. They consistently been visiting my school, talking to my coach and having me call regularly. They made me feel special from the start not just today."

An opportunity to play for running backs coach CJ Spiller is also something that Davidson is having to seriously consider. The two have built quite the special bond throughout the process.

"Coach Spiller is more than a Clemson football legend" he said. "He is humble. A family man who loves God. That’s impressive to me."

Davidson trimmed his list of favorites down to ten last month. Michigan, Oregon, Southern Cal, Penn State, Ohio State, Colorado, Notre Dame, Tennessee and Iowa State all made the cut. As did Clemson. Even before the Tigers had officially offered.

The blue-chip running back has since cut his list down to three specific schools. However, Davidson chooses to keep those to himself.

Next on the agenda is making a commitment, and Davidson said that will come on June 14. He told All Clemson Tigers he will be announcing at 11:45 a.m. at the Frank Rocco summer camp in his hometown.
