CLEMSON- Last weekend, hundreds of prospects rolled through Clemson to take part in Dabo Swinney's high school camps.
One of those players was 4-star Cortez Mills. The 6-foot-1, 170-pound wideout, out of Homestead, Fl, is one of the top wide receivers in the 2025 class and a Top 100 talent overall, and he showed why during his workout.
Mills was arguably the best looking receiver to take part in the camps this summer, and his visit to Clemson left an impression.
"Clemson stacks up compared to other schools," Mills said. "I feel like Clemson is just different."
Mills was so good in fact, he earned an offer after his workout. The first offer handed out to a receiver in the 2025 class, and it came during a conversation with Dabo Swinney and wide receivers coach Tyler Grisham.
"The offer came right after I dominated the camp," Mills said. "I had a great talk with head coach Dabo Swinney and coach Grisham. It means a lot to me. Clemson is my dream school and knowing they don’t hand out a bunch of offers and decided to hand me one is great."
Mills is quickly developing a unique bond with Grisham, and after seeing it in person, he now has a greater appreciation for his coaching style.
"Me and coach Grisham really have a great bond," Mills said. "His coaching style is very great and I enjoy getting taught from him."
The blue-chip talent has already racked up more than 20 offers, with Miami, Louisville, Michigan, Nebraska, Texas A&M, Maryland and Penn State being some of the schools he has been hearing from the most.
Mills doesn't yet have a timeline for making a decision, as he is still in the process of building relationships. And it's those relationships that he is looking for in his search for a college destination.
"How they treat me," Mills said. "Do we have a strong bond on and off the football field."
