4-Star DE Darien Mayo Signs National Letter of Intent with Clemson (Recruiting)

4-star DE Darien Mayo has officially signed with the Clemson Tigers.

The 6-foot-7, 250-pound edge rusher (Good Counsel, Olney, Md) committed to Clemson back in June, picking the Tigers from more than two dozen offers, including Michigan, Ohio State and Southern Cal.

Mayo had a monster senior season, finishing with 63 tackles, 28 tackles for loss and 18 sacks, helping lead his team to a 10-1 record and a WCAC Championship.

The blue-chip talent was one of two defensive ends that Clemson signed from the high school ranks in this class, with the 247 Composite ranking him No. 162 overall and No. 24 among all defensive linemen. Mayo's school doesn't allow for students to graduate early so he will enroll in the summer.
