A first-time visit to Clemson tends to leave an impression on high school football recruit, and Isaiah Campbell was no different.
The 2025 4-star DL out of Greene Central in Snow Hill, N.C. made his very first visit to campus recently and had a very unique way of describing the experience.
"Oh, I was amazed, it was spectacular," Campbell told All Clemson Tigers. "It was super-cali-fragilistic-expialidocious."
Campbell came away from the visit feeling unlike he'd felt on any of his previous visits and said that was due to how he was treated by the coaching staff. From head coach Dabo Swinney, all the way down to the support staff.
"One of the best visits I've ever had. I felt like I wasn't being recruited like as an athlete," Campbell said. "Coach Dabo, he was speaking and he told everybody that everybody doesn't get offered by Clemson. They give quality offers and you can commit on the same day they give out the offer. I was very shocked. I felt like I wasn't getting recruited as a big time recruit, but as a person that's just good at football."
Campbell has already has offers from South Carolina, East Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia and NC State and he has already visited each of those schools. This summer he plans to hit multiple camps, including one in Clemson.
The Tigers won't start handing out 2025 offers until June. Knowing how extremely selective the coaches are, Campbell knows an offer from Clemson would mean a little more.
"I would be ecstatic, filled with joy," he said. "That would mean something to me. That would that would be like in my top three."
While Campbell is still early on in the process, the 6-foot-5, 265-pound prospect already knows he would like to have a decision made by the start of his senior season. However, it isn't a timeline that is set in stone.
Over the next year he plans to keep his options open, take as many visits as he can, and try and find the program that best fits what he is looking for.
"I'm going to look at the coaching staff and how they treat the players and how they treat themselves and respect themselves outside of the players," Campbell said. "If they have a winning program. Other that football, job career paths, and just opportunities. Also NIL, something like they talked about at Clemson."
"Academics is the big thing for me, though. I would like a school that has good academics. Is your team passing, what are their majors? Are you just getting a degree and really not doing anything with it in future? Or are they going down the right path?"
