WR Jordon Gidron is one of the top in-state players in the 2026 recruiting class.
The 4-star prospect, out of Ridge View, already has offers from schools like Florida State, Tennessee, Miami, South Carolina and Oklahoma, with Georgia being one of the most recent to pull the trigger.
Gidron was a visitor for the most recent junior day at Clemson back on March 9, getting to spend some time with head coach Dabo Swinney and receivers coach Tyler Grisham.
"It went good," Gidron told ACT. "They just sold us on the campus. Got to talk to some of the coaches; coach Grisham, coach Swinney. And just, they told us everything about the school and what they had to offer."
Gidron also was an onlooker for the Tigers' scrimmage that day, and he really liked what he saw from Garrett Riley's offense, particularly the passing game.
"They looked good. They scrimmaged each other in practice and they definitely were scoring." Gidron said. "Guys like Antonio (Williams) were doing good. (Bryant) Wesco, the freshman, was doing good. I liked how they were passing the ball."
The way Grisham coaches the receivers was something Gidron was particularly interested in.
"He was breaking things down for the guys," Gidron said. "He broke things down for the receivers, told us about creating separation and using the head and shoulders and stuff like that. I definitely like how he coaches. I think he's doing good. He's a great guy. I like how he coaches."
While the Tigers won't start offering players in the 2026 class until June, Gidron is a name to know when that time comes, and he doesn't mind waiting a little longer. He understands completely how the process at Clemson works.
"I mean it would definitely mean a lot," Gidron said of an offer. "I would definitely like a school that throws the ball a lot. It was always good when I was growing up with just that succession of playoff stuff. An offer from a school like that would mean a lot to me. I mean it would definitely mean a lot."
"I don't think it hurts them; I understand the process. An offer from them means a lot. You know they are going to prepare you for life after football. Evaluating and connecting to the players, I understand why they do it."
For now, the message was simple. Keep grinding.
"Just keep doing what you're doing," Gidron said. "They talk about how they like to develop their players; they focus on graduation. They just talk about how they run the program."
Gidron has also taken a spring visit to South Carolina, and was last at Clemson for the North Carolina game last season. As he continues to go through the recruiting process, the speedy wideout is looking for the best fit.
"Just a good coaching staff, people that can develop me to get to the next level," Gidron said. "Just a good school to go to as far as education and things like that."
And for Gidron, the education factor is a big part of it.
"I want to graduate and get a degree. That is definitely important to me."
