Following Clemson’s loss to Georgia this past weekend, junior cornerback Jeadyn Lukus spoke to the media today ahead of the Tigers’ clash against Appalachian State this upcoming weekend.
Against Georgia, Lukus recorded six tackles, the second most on the Tigers' defense in the opening game of the season. He was also on the field for every defensive snap, demonstrating the trust head coach Dabo Swinney has in him.
After the loss to Georgia, Swinney mentioned that Lukus was one of the bright spots for Clemson in the tough season opener.
Heading into the week, it was unclear whether Lukus would be able to play, as he was battling an injury and was listed as day-to-day on the injury report.
Lukus's time at Clemson has been riddled with injuries, including two shoulder injuries and a hip injury.
Being able to get out there in the opening game and make an impact meant a lot to Lukus.
He said it felt really good to be back on the field. Despite the injuries, he focused on staying the course and remaining positive, which helped him come out stronger on the other side.
Lukus also mentioned that the team has moved on to App State. He said it was obviously a tough bus ride home after the season-opening loss, but their attention is now fully on this weekend's opponent.
Jeadyn Lukus emerged as a standout player for Clemson in their tough loss to Georgia, recording six tackles and playing every defensive snap. Despite battling injuries, Lukus's resilience and positive attitude have kept him focused, and he's now set his sights on Clemson's upcoming matchup against Appalachian State. The team, too, has shifted its attention to bouncing back this weekend
