Clemson Nabs Commitment from Top-Rated In-State Recruit

The Clemson Tigers have added a key piece to their 2025 recruiting class.

4-star DL Amare Adams (South Florence) announced his commitment on Sunday, choosing Clemson over South Carolina, Florida State, Georgia and LSU.

Adams is a huge addition to the class and gives the Tigers, as well as DT coach Nick Eason, a big in-state recruiting win over rival South Carolina. Early on, many had pegged the Gamecocks as the likely destination for the talented prospect.

Adams visited Clemson back in the summer for Dabo Swinney's high school camp, although he did not work out, and then returned for the Tigers' overtime loss to Florida State back in September. His last visit to South Carolina came just over a week ago, when Clemson knocked off the Gamecocks 16-7.

Adams is the second player in the 2025 class to announce a commitment in the past two days, joining WR Carleton "Ju Ju" Preston, who committed on Saturday. Their additions now give the Tigers seven verbal pledges, as they join 4-star QB Blake Hebert, 4-star RB, Gideon Davidson, 4-star TE Logan Brooking and 4-star OL Easton Ware in a class that is currently firmly etnrenched inside of the Top 10.
