One of the top offensive line prospects in the 2025 class was on the Clemson campus last week.
5-star Josh Petty (Fellowship Christian, Roswell, Ga) took an unofficial visit to campus late last week while Dabo Swinney's high school camp was in session. While the 6-foot-5, 265-pound prospect did not work out, he did leave with an offer in hand.
"It is a very nice campus with great people all around," Petty told All Clemson Tigers.
The 247 Sports Composite ranks Petty as the second best tackle in the 2025 class. As one of the prized recruits in this cycle, he has already accumulated 23 offers. Louisville, Florida, Florida State and Notre Dame have all offered in recent weeks and being so heavily pursued, Petty is trying to enjoy the process now that school has let out for the summer.
"With school being out it’s a lot easier but sometimes it gets stressful," Petty said. "Remembering to keep God first and that this is a blessing not many have really helps."
The offer from Clemson was his most recent, and being one of the select few to pick up an offer from the Tigers left an impression.
"That recruiting process as a whole is a gift," Petty said. "But knowing I’m part of a select few who earned a offer from one of the best schools in the country is a special feeling."
Petty has yet to decide on a timeline for wanting to have a decision made, but the blue-chip talent said he knows he wants to get back to Clemson at some point for a game.
Until then, Petty plans to continue to enjoy the process. The talented offensive lineman is looking for the right culture, and for a school that can develop him both on and off the field.
"Academics plays a huge part in where I go to school, I need to be set up after football," Petty said. "The community and energy around the team is important because I need to know how they will react when they lose. As well as the player development piece. What kind of man will they turn me into."
