Clemson Tigers Dominate NC State Wolfpack in ACC Opener with 59-35 Victory: Key Highlights and Player Performances (Football)

The Clemson Tigers began ACC play this afternoon against the NC State Wolfpack. Clemson, the heavy favorite heading into the rivalry, did not disappoint.

The first half was dominated by Clemson, who opened the game with a long touchdown on their first offensive drive.

The momentum continued, and by halftime, the Tigers led the Wolfpack 45-7.

Cade Klubnik put on another stellar performance, finishing 16-of-24 for 210 passing yards, three passing touchdowns, 64 rushing yards, and one rushing touchdown.

Running back Phil Mafah also had a strong showing. Despite an early injury, he returned to finish with six carries for 96 yards and one rushing touchdown—all in the first half.

Antonio Williams stood out in the receiving game with three catches for 39 yards and two touchdowns. He also had an impressive punt return at the end of the half, setting up a short field goal.

On defense, the Tigers held firm throughout most of the first half, allowing just one touchdown but forcing two early fumbles.

After their first drive of the second half, Clemson pulled its starters, giving younger players valuable game experience.

The defensive starters played well, and like the offense, they were subbed out once the lead was comfortable enough for head coach Dabo Swinney.

The final score was 59-35. However, despite covering the spread, the game was even more lopsided than the score suggests.

Clemson is now 2-1 overall and 1-0 in ACC play. After today's strong performance and rivalry win, they will host the Stanford Cardinals next weekend, who are coming off a big win in their first ACC game against Syracuse.
