GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Louisville's Sarah Gordon has earned the Atlantic Coast Conference Softball Player of the Week and Clemson Valerie Cagle was named the ACC Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season.



The ACC softball weekly awards are voted on by a panel from both the schools and the conference office.



Gordon led Louisville to a 3-1 record and a sweep of Pitt with a .750 batting average, going 9-for-12. The freshman tallied two home runs, three doubles, two walks, six runs and eight RBI. The catcher is on an eight-game hitting streak, hitting 3-for-3 with a home run in the Cardinals' mid-week matchup against Charlotte. The Lexington, South Carolina, native posted a team-best 1.500 slugging percentage and a .786 OBP. In the series clincher against Pitt, Gordon went 3-for-4 with two doubles and a home run. In the Sunday finale, she drove in the go-ahead run with a two-run single. Over the weekend, she recorded at least one RBI in each game against the Panthers, tallying three in the final two games of the series. Gordon has the second most hits in the ACC (36) and third most doubles (9).



Cagle posted a 3-0 record through 19 innings pitched on the weekend. In three appearances, the Yorktown, Virginia, native held a 0.00 ERA against 69 batters, giving up only two walks and allowing just 12 hits. The redshirt junior posted an eight strikeout 5.0 inning complete game against Charlotte before throwing two games against Virginia. Cagle picked up five strikeouts and the win on Saturday and added another five on Sunday. She became the first Tiger to reach 100 strikeouts on the season. She leads the ACC with a 0.50 ERA.
