Dabo Swinney Meets With the Media for Sunday Ahead of Matchup With No. 3 Florida State (Football)

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney met with the media Sunday evening during his weekly teleconference and updated the status of injuries, the state of his team and, of course, the Florida State Seminoles.

Here is what we heard:

  • "So proud of our team for maybe playing their best game. Still a lot of room for improvement for sure. You win a game like that, but you come in and watch the tape and say man, there's a lot of room for improvement."
  • Cole Turner has torn three of his abductor muscles. "Really hate that for him. Again, a kid we thought was on his way to a big-time year for him this year. Good news, he's got his whole career in front of him."
  • Clemson's second kicker would be punter Aidan Swanson if Robert Gunn III continued to struggle. “Our second guy at placekicker right now would be Aiden Swanson”
  • "He's as talented a guy as I've ever been around, but sometimes guys can get in a little bit of a bad spot mentally or get in a slump or whatever. Hopefully, we'll work our way through that before we have to make a change."
  • C.J. Spiller and his spat with Will Swinney during the FAU game: "Just some competitive juices right there from two great competitors. They resolved that very quickly."
