There can be a great deal of frustration on a college football team. When you have a group of players who were the best at their respective high schools, and they go from being the big fish in a small pond to a minnow in an ocean the result can be disheartening for some.
But that is where a change can help, and that is exactly what new Clemson Tiger offensive coordinator Garrett Riley is bringing to Tiger Town, a fresh set of eyes and a clean slate when it comes to evaluating his offensive unit.
"That's been the fun part. I get to come in with a complete clean slate for a lot of guys and unbiased opinions on people and I kind of get to see it through a different lens," Riley said. "So I think it's probably maybe in a way a little refreshing for some of our current coaches that have known these kids and seen them every day and they may hear a different opinion or a different voice on some guys that maybe they didn't think that way in the first place. But that part's been great, that's the fun part, is you get to evaluate what you do have and if y'all have seen a little bit of our practice early on. I mean we're repping a lot of guys here as you should in spring to really get a great sample size on these guys."
