Most Anticipated Clemson Tigers of 2023: No. 9 Beaux Collins (Football)

All Clemson Tigers is getting you ready for the 2023 season with a list of some of the most anticipated players. Heading into the fall, these Tigers are either coming off of injuries, stepping into larger roles, or are needed for Clemson to have a big season.

You won’t find fan favorites like Will Shipley or Barrett Carter on this list. They are known commodities. Instead, the focus is on players the fans can’t wait to see and do something they haven’t seen.

Let’s keep the countdown going with No. 9.

Junior WR Beaux Collins (6-foot-3, 210-pounds)

Key stats from 2022: 22 receptions, 373 yards, 5 touchdowns in 10 games.

Why the hype?: Collins has the potential to be the best receiver in a room filled with question marks. The high level of playmakers Tiger fans are used to seeing has fallen off in recent years, but a healthy Collins could be the field-stretcher they’ve been asking for. Collins led all Tiger receivers in touchdown catches but only played in one of Clemson’s final five games last year as he dealt with a shoulder issue that eventually required surgery. Had he been healthy, the California native might’ve been tops in other categories, and he put up an impressive 16.95 yards per catch last fall.

What to expect in 2023: Even before the injury limited his playing time, his production started to fade. As long as Collins can make it through fall camp and keep it that way, he should be one of the top two options for Cade Klubnik. Collins could settle in as the primary deep-ball threat in new offensive coordinator Garrett Riley’s Air Raid system, and he’s got the speed and pedigree to produce his best season yet if the passing game gets on track.
