Tiger Tracker: Multiple Offensive Line Targets Set to Visit for Clemson-Florida State (Death Valley Domain)

Clemson offensive line coach Thomas Austin talks with offensive lineman Ryan Linthicum (53) as he warms up before the game with Furman at Memorial Stadium in Clemson, South Carolina in September 2022. Ncaa Football Furman At Clemson

Clemson hosts No. 4 Florida State on Saturday and with what could be plenty at stake. On the field and on the recruiting trail.

Not only do the Tigers need a win to keep pace in the ACC standings, but the program is expected to host a number of priority targets, mostly in the 2025 class.

However, with the offensive line being the biggest need remaining in the 2024 class, Clemson is expected to bring in a couple of uncommitted targets in hopes of adding two more players at the position.

Only two offensive linemen with offers remain uncommitted. One of those is 3-star Daniel Akinkunmi (NFL Academy, London), who picked up his offer late last month. He was supposed to visit for the FAU game, but after his visit to Oklahoma in Week 1, Akinkunmi scratched all remaining visits and is expected to announce a commitment to the Sooners when he announces on October 12.

The other is 4-star Elyjah Thurmon (Bradwell Institute, Hinesville, Ga), who picked up an offer back in July, just ahead of the All In Cookout, although he was not able to attend. While I have not been able to confirm it, I have been told that Thurmon will make it in for an unofficial visit this weekend. His five finalists are Georgia Tech, Missouri, LSU, South Carolina and Clemson.

As best I can tell, this is Thurmon's first game day visit this season, so this would be an opportune time for the Tigers to try and start separating themselves from the rest of the pack, seeing as there should be a raucous crowd on hand, despite the noon kick.

3-star Favour Edwin (Eagles Landing, McDonough, Ga) is also set to return to campus this weekend. Favour, who has yet to officially pick up an offer, put on a display back at camp during the summer that got the coaching staff's attention. Florida has already offered. Alabama has been showing interest, but has yet to offer.

This is Edwin's first season playing football, meaning it is understandable that some schools are taking their time with the evaluation process. It is also worth noting that Edwin told me that offensive line coach Thomas Austin was on hand for his game Friday night. It will be a little surprising if an offer isn't forthcoming.

Despite missing on numerous targets up to this point, Clemson is still looking to take three offensive linemen in this class. 3-star Ronan O' Connell is already on board, meaning the staff is still looking to add two more. With the early signing still three months away, there is still time, but make no mistake, the Tigers would benefit greatlt from making considerable headway with both of these guys this weekend.
