Every college football season, there are a few games that everyone circles on their calendar as potential conference deciders. Here are the top games of the 2024 ACC schedule that could dictate who walks away with the title:
Clemson Tigers at Florida State Seminoles
Clemson vs. Florida State will be the game of the year in the ACC. Florida State is the favorite to win the conference in 2024; however, Clemson is right behind them and seeking revenge after their home loss last season.
Florida State quarterback DJ Uiagalelei will also be looking to make a statement against his former team when the game kicks off.
This matchup has all the drama fans could want, and the winner will likely walk away as the ACC champion.
Clemson Tigers at Virginia Tech Hokies
Virginia Tech enters the season as one of the most underrated teams in the country. The Hokies won five of their last seven games last season, and during that stretch, they had one of the most dominant offenses in the country.
If Virginia Tech has a productive season on offense like they did at the end of last season, they are a dark horse for the ACC championship.

NC State Wolfpack at Clemson Tigers
The Wolfpack haven’t won in Death Valley since 2003, and head coach Dave Doeren is 0-4 at Clemson. Still, NC State did beat Clemson last season, which sparked a five-game win streak for the Tigers after the loss to their rival.
The Wolfpack will be looking to make the ACC championship game for the first time in program history, and if they are going to do it, they will need to upset their rival for the second season in a row.
Florida State at SMU Mustangs
Florida State enters the season as the favorite to win the ACC title in 2024. However, a game that many are overlooking is their road matchup against SMU.
SMU is set to begin its first season in the ACC after leaving the AAC this past offseason. SMU is one of the most underrated teams in the country. Many believe they will have a tough adjustment to ACC play, but the Mustangs went 11-3 last year and were undefeated in their conference.
This is a trap game for the Seminoles, and if they aren't careful, SMU could ruin Florida State's season.
Florida State at Miami Hurricanes
Florida State and Miami both enter the season ranked inside the top 20 in the AP poll. Both are not only favorites to win the ACC, but both will also be looking for a big resume win in their playoff push.
Florida State has won its last four matchups against Miami. However, Miami brought in QB Cam Ward through the transfer portal, who is widely regarded as the best QB in the portal. Florida State also brought in a transfer QB, DJ Uiagalelei, who will be looking to prove doubters wrong in 2024.
This matchup will have major implications on who walks away with the ACC title at the end of the season.
