CLEMSON—The Clemson Tigers defensive coordinator Wes Goodwin met with the media to preview the upcoming game against the Duke Blue Devils, how he is approaching Year 2 and the "studs" he has.
Here is what we heard:
- Jeremiah Trotter: "He’s ready to roll (for Duke)," Goodwin says. "He’s one of those, you have to hold him back rather than encourage him to go."
- Adds of the overall defense: "We're healthy for the most part"
- “I coach my guys my way and I am who I am, but nobody wants to win more than me”
- Peter Woods being listed as a co-starter at DT with Ruke Orhorhoro and Tyler Davis on the Week 1 depth chart. "He earned the right to be listed that way. That’s how Coach Eason and the staff feels. He showed up well beyond his years, obviously. Really talented."
- We have a very unselfish team that pours into the younger guys. Speaking on older guys mentoring younger guys
