What Did We Hear From Clemson Head Coach Dabo Swinney (Football)

CLEMSON—Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney met with the media for the first time since the Tigers opened fall camp, and we have all of the highlights of what he said.

  • What did we hear:
  • Dabo Swinney on Tyler Brown (Greenville native). "Five days in, he’s flashed, for sure… He’s really, really fast. He and Tink (Misun Kelley) have shined well in that slot." Says he is further along than he thought he might be from a technical standpoint
  • Swinney on OL Dietrick Pennington is "putting his best days together."
  • ACC possibly adding teams. "I have zero thoughts about it. I know that’s definitely a question you gotta ask. But that’s what administrators do. I have zero thoughts and concerns about that."
  • Calls Jarvis Green 'polished.' Says he has not heard Jay Haynes say a word since he got here but he has noticed him.
  • Says he is 'pretty pleased' with what he has seen at LT. Says Leigh has held up well, also says he is very pleased with Sadler.
  • Swinney says "I think Tristan has really held up well." "There’s nobody that cares more than that guy, and if he makes a mistake, he usually don’t make it again."
  • True freshman DE T.J. Parker has put himself in a "really good spot"
