Clemson Set to Host Troy in Week 2 Showdown at Memorial Stadium (Football)

Fresh off their high-profile season opener against LSU, the Clemson Tigers will stay home for Week 2 as they welcome the Troy Trojans to Memorial Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 6. With a strong record in non-conference home games under Head Coach Dabo Swinney, Clemson will look to continue its dominance against visiting opponents in Death Valley.

Since taking over as head coach, Swinney has turned Memorial Stadium into one of the toughest places to play in college football, boasting a 41-5 record in non-conference home games. Even more impressive is Clemson’s 31-2 mark in its last 33 non-conference contests at home, a testament to the team’s consistency and dominance in front of its home crowd.

The Tigers are no strangers to the Troy Trojans, having met them twice before in program history. Clemson emerged victorious in both matchups, earning a 43-19 win in 2011 and narrowly edging out Troy in a 30-24 thriller in 2016. Those games showed that Troy is not a team to be overlooked, and Clemson will need to stay sharp to avoid any early-season surprises.

With the home crowd on their side and momentum building from the season opener, Clemson will look to extend its non-conference dominance while preparing for the challenges that lie ahead. Saturday’s game will not only serve as another opportunity to fine-tune their performance but also as a reminder of the high standards the Tigers have set under Swinney’s leadership.

Kickoff in Death Valley is set for Sept. 6, and fans can expect another thrilling chapter in Clemson’s journey this season.
