After its 13-6 win at Coastal Carolina on Wednesday, the Tigers have now won five straight and 16 of the last 20, with nine of those wins coming away from home. Head coach Erik Bakich credits the confidence his team is currently playing with for a lot of the recent success.
"I think it speaks definitely to the mindset of what a confident team looks like with a high level of belief that enables them to find a way," Bakich said.

• Saturday - RHP Austin Gordon (CU) vs. TBA (VAT)

Bakich also believes that his teams struggles during a 2-7 start in ACC play helped prepare the his team for the success they are experiencing right now.
"When there's doubt and fear, you also find a way. It just comes on the wrong side of things. And we dealt with that," he said. "We had to go through that. And that was a tough learning experience for us. But we went through it and we came out of it. And now we're seeing what the other side looks like. Just the belief that good things are gonna happen. A lot of trust in each other and a lot of belief in this team that this is what it looks like."
Clemson now sits at 32-17 overall and 14-10 in ACC play. The Tigers are currently sitting at 11th in the RPI, and are projected by D1 Baseball to host a regional for the first time since 2018.
Virginia Tech comes in also having won five straight. The Hokies are 48th in the RPI, and another strong showing by the Tigers this weekend in Blacksburg will only help continue the teams strong postseason push.
"We just need to keep our head down," Bakich said. "Keep playing hard and keep playing well. Keep executing, and d not really think about what it means. We just need to keep playing good baseball."
