Clemson Offer Would 'Change Everything' For 2024 OL Favour Edwin (Recruiting)

As a high school senior, Favour Edwin is currently gearing up for his first season playing organized football.

The 2024 3-star offensive lineman, out of Eagles Landing (McDonough, Ga) moved to the United States from Nigeria close to two years ago. While he has yet to play in an actual game, Edwin did get his feet wet over the summer, attending multiple camps, which included stops at Clemson and Alabama.

"It was amazing," Edwin said of his Clemson camp experience. "That was my first camp, my first football camp going up against that kind of competition. Working on my one-on-one pass rush and everything. So, it was special to me because I got to go up against the top guys. It was amazing. It's all the things I learned. I was totally blown away. It helped me to build a solid foundation."

Edwin also quickly hit it off with offensive line coach Thomas Austin.

"Great guy. I love the way he coaches, the way he teaches. He explained a lot of things to me," Edwin said. "When to shoot my hands, when not to shoot my hands. I just love the way he teaches."

Originally, Edwin was focused on basketball, but the longer he had been in the country, the more he realized his future resided on the gridiron.

"Everybody around me was saying I was a way better football player than basketball player," Edwin said. "So, I went off to practice. Why not give it a shot? I don't have anything to lose at this point. I went to practice, and I loved it. I decided, hey, I might go do this because this is great."

Currently, the 6-foot-8, 290-pound prospect has Power-5 offers from Florida, Georgia Tech, West Virginia and Alabama. He is also in regular contact with Clemson, and is planning a return visit for the Florida State game in September.

With the Tigers still looking to add two more offensive linemen to the 2024 class, Edwin is certainly a name worth monitoring as we head into the fall. And if that offer does eventually come, it is one Edwin would have to seriously consider.

"It changes everything, I mean it's Clemson," Edwin said. "Right now, I am working with the schools I have but if Clemson comes around, you have to take a look at them. So, if that happens, I will definitely be taking a look at them, for sure."
