Tiger Tracker: What's Left for Clemson In 2024 Recruiting Class? (Recruiting)

Mike Matthews (Jason Priester All Clemson)

Every year, Clemson typically has most of its recruiting class locked up by the start of the season and the 2024 cycle looks to be playing out that way, as well.

The Tigers currently have commitments from 16 players in a class that I think ends up featuring 20-23 players.

2024 Commitments

On the offensive side of the ball, the Tigers are getting pretty close to done. After missing on their early targets at quarterback and with 4-star Blake Hebert already on board in 2025, don't expect the staff to take a signal caller in this recruiting cycle. No other additions are expected at RB or TE either.

At WR, we are still awaiting a decision from 5-star Mike Matthews, who is set to announce on Wednesday. If the talented wideout goes elsewhere, the question becomes will the staff target another receiver in this class. I think it's a very realistic possibility if they can find a slot type guy they really like. If not, I believe they will stick with the two they have.

Offensive line is where a lot of work is still to be done. The number was three coming in, and as we head into August, Clemson only has the one commitment with just one uncommitted target in 3-star Jameson Riggs remaining undecided. Watching how things play out here will make for an intriguing fall, as the board is likely to start expanding in the very near future.

Things are also all but done on the defensive side of the ball. Don't expect anymore additions at DT or S. The staff would still like to add one more defensive end to the mix, with 4-star Solomon Williams and 5-star Eddrick Houston being the uncommitted targets with offers. Houston has been trending away from Clemson for weeks and Williams is expected to take his recruitment into the fall.

The staff might also choose to add one more LB. 3-star Wyatt Simmons is the only uncommitted player at the position that currently has an offer, but no word on when a decision might come.

At defensive back, 4-star CB Corian Gipson announces a decision on Saturday in a battle that looks to be coming down to Clemson and Texas. If Gipson were to go elsewhere, the coaches may or may not choose to target another corner.
